$$$$dollar woman man local-NOT-for-maps

Sitka is a locally owned store and brand that began on the West Coast. The owners share their love for nature, surf, and skate by focusing on a lifestyle that is distinctly West Coast in every way. With lines such as Herschel, their own Sitka line, Vans and more, Sitka fits into the high prices category. Hats start at about $75, shorts at $65. If you want to enjoy a coffee, tea, lunch, or even a local beer from Spinnakers, be sure to check out the cafe inside the store, it’s a pretty cool mix. They even have a patio.

Vanessa’s View

Sitka is a super cool store, I love the way they show off merchandise with tree trunk type displays, lots of wood, outdoor gear and old suitcases. I think it represents the West Coast lifestyle so well. Sitka is great too because although it began in Victoria, they’ve opened up stores in Vancouver, and even one in New Zealand. How awesome is that? While the styles are a bit more casual than I normally go for, I like knowing that the next time I want a beer on a patio, I can go there, and the all around concept in the store is what makes it worth checking out.

Did you watch the video above? Pretty amazing right? If you are a tourist and want to walk away from Victoria with something better then a red and white “Victoria, Canada” sweatshirt, go to Sitka and buy one of their hoodies. If you are not a tourist, still go buy one of their hoodies – they’re much better then Lululemon. Aside from Sitka’s iconic Sitka¬†Spruce hoodie, they have a wide assortment of both men’s and women’s clothes that are casual, but expensive.
