Sarah’s Place is a vegan curio located in the upper level of Market Square. Owner Sarah Kramer is well known for her line of vegan cookbooks which she sells along with a plethora of other vegan friendly finds. Everything in the shop is made either locally, or by one of Sarah’s own personal friends, and has a retro vibe. If you loved Grease, you will probably really enjoy visiting Sarah’s Place. The dresses are awesome classic cuts in fun gingham and plaids, the majority of which are made by her friend in Portland. The dresses are typically about $150. Among the fun outfits, you’ll also find bow tie hair clips, cute local jewelry, and even beauty products, which run anywhere from $8 – $40.

Vanessa’s View

Sarah’s Place is a really fun shop to visit. I actually just stumbled across it a few weeks ago, and was happy I did. While not a vegan, I really enjoyed all the knick knacks and knowing that just about everything in the shop is local and handmade is really great. Who doesn’t like supporting really local? I especially like her crazy patterned bow tie hair clips. They’re only $6 and I think I might buy one for my brother’s 13th birthday and he can just use it as a normal, but ultra funky bow tie!

Kate’s View

Tucked away behind the delicious smells of Wanna Waffle, Sarah’s Place is a bright, airy funky shop in Market Square. There are shirts with pigs on them followed by cheeky slogans promoting a vegan diet. There was also a selection of cups, plates and bowls all in vibrant primary colours. To say the least, I was very impressed.
